Kym is a compelling storyteller, a vintage treasure hunter, and a natural connector of people. After obtaining a degree in Communication Studies from Loyola Marymount University, she traveled 5,000 miles from home to explore her passion for language and culture in a rural community of Chile. There, she achieved fluency in Spanish while implementing both an English and a physical education component in the schools where she worked as a volunteer. Cultivating lifelong relationships with her Chilean community was icing on the cake.
As a SAG-AFTRA actress, Kym has also committed to building community. She has appeared in several national commercials, two of which aired in both Spanish and English markets, as well as short films that have screened in festivals across the country, including the Los Angeles Women’s Film Festival and the the Palm Springs International Film Festival. She has consistently sought out creative collaborations with women and people of color.
Most recently, she co-produced and performed in a live theater show called “Echoes” made up of original pieces all written and performed by women. After four sold out shows, the women of Echoes were able to make a sizable donation to Planned Parenthood. Through this community of powerful women, Kym plans to continue to create spaces where women, especially black women, can freely tell their stories, expanding upon the representations of black women in media, and challenging perceptions of blackness and femininity.
Kym is currently represented commercially by SBV Talent, and theatrically by the lovely Christina Price at Wordwide Artists Group!
